Blancpain 500 Fathoms Cannes 2009 Limited Edition diving watch

The new Blancpain 500 Fathoms Cannes 2009 Limited Edition diving timepiece was officially presented to public during the 32nd Cannes International Boat Show that ended a couple of days ago.
The new watch’s point of interest is, without doubt, hidden beneath its sapphire transparent case back. In place of a standard oscillating weight, Blancpain employed a finely crafted propeller-shaped piece of metal with exquisite perlage pattern.

The rotor provides energy for the relatively fresh Caliber 1315 automatic movement, which is based on their top-notch 13RO hand-wound manufacture caliber. Measuring only 4.57mm in height and impressive 30.60mm in diameter, this powerful and precise engine has a power reserve of 120 hours.
Of course, such a prominent caliber requires a generous casing, so the Blancpain 500 Fathoms Cannes 2009 Limited Edition diving watch comes in 48mm wide titanium case. Although prone to occasional bumps and scratches, this material also significantly reduces weight, making the watch more comfortable to wear.
Like all other models of the 50 Fathoms series, the 500 Fathoms looks next to boring, but this is certainly a must have for any collector thanks to its exclusive in-house movement.
