Panerai Luminor 1950 10 Days GMT Taipei 101 Limited Edition
Trying to make extra press for its boutique in the Taipei 101 building that still holds the title of the tallest not only in Taiwan but the whole Asia, the Italian brand offers a new Panerai Luminor 1950 10 Days GMT Taipei 101 Limited Edition automatic watch. As you can see on the photo above, the limited edition Luminor 1950 even has the supertall’s image roughly engraved on its stainless steel case back cover! Well, on the front side it is still a good old Panerai, whether you like it or not.
Like the Panerai Luminor 1950 10 Days GMT Ceramica 44mm P2003 (PAM 335) that was presented in the beginning of the year at SIHH 2010 trade show, the Panerai Taipei 101 version is almost overloaded with functions, those including a second time zone, 24-hour indicator, small date aperture at 3 o’clock, and even a horizontal power reserve indicator.
However, its matte black dial somehow manages to display all of this data without actually looking crowded.
The device is powered by the in-house Panerai P.2003 automatic caliber that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz.)
Built of 296 parts and measuring 31 mm in diameter and 8 mm in height, the movement also sports a Glucydur balance wheel and KIF Parechoc anti-shock system. Its three spring barrels store enough potential energy to power the watch for a total of 10 days, or around 240 hours!
Presented in a 44mm cushion-shaped case, the watch is water resistant to 100 meters.
Officine Panerai currently offers the Luminor 1950 10 Days GMT Taipei 101 Limited Edition at a recommended price of $17,250 USD.
Only 101 units will be made.
It is not clear, whether the watch will be available internationally or offered only to those visiting Panerai boutique at the Taipei 101.
