The relatively young Swiss watchmaking brand Linde Werdelin (it was established approximately eight years ago by Morten Linde and Jorn Werdelin, hence the name of the company) will soon offer its North American fans a limited edition version of its stealthy The One “luxury tool” watch. Sporting an impressive water resistance rating of 300 meters and designed to be used as a professional diving companion, the watch predictably comes with a high-contrast color scheme with numerals on the diving scale, as well as hands and hour markers literally burning your eyes out with their bright yellow-green Superluminova chemical compound applied to the dark grey background.
Offered in a grey DLC-coated stainless steel body, the new Linde Werdelin (The One) Hard Grey DLC Limited Edition watch will be sold via LW’s authorized dealer ExquisiteTimepieces.com.
Linde Werdelin The One automatic watch was offered about two years ago as a part of total overhaul of LW’s model range.
Although its dial was “toned down,” the watch is still very recognizable clearly demonstrating the brand’s unique, if not very handsome, DNA (can a DNA be handsome, anyways?)
Capable of working both with the Reef and the Rock wrist computers, the watch is nevertheless too expensive to wear it on a hiking trail or underwater.
This considered, a version of the watch sporting virtually scratch-resistant DLC coating may come in handy to those who prefer a mountain trail to a night club’s dance floor.
Compared to the original model, the limited edition watch employs new color scheme for its unidirectional rotating bezel, grey matt dial and diamond-cut black hands.
All these elements are provided with very bright yellow Superluminova luminous substance.
Its only problem is that the watch is still powered by a mass produced ETA 2892-A2 movement, which somehow diminishes its value as a collector’s item.
On the other hand, any tool watch needs to be precise and reliable and the movement offers just that at just a fraction of a price of a similar manufacture-made movement.
At this time, you can order the timekeeper only through Linde Werdelin’s authorized dealer Exquisite Timepieces, not sure if any of the ‘unofficial’ retailers will ever get one.
Visit their site to get info on pricing, delivery and such.
And bear in mind that the whole party is limited to only 11 watches!
