The Swiss watchmaker Artya, the one that treats its timepieces as art objects, has started selling its new Artya Artpiece 1/1 Liquid Dial limited edition automatic watch.
Although it has been reported that the Artya Artpiece 1/1 Liquid Dial was limited to just one example, the Swiss brand’s site says that the watch will in fact be produced in a series of 360 pieces and offered at a pretty much affordable price of 2400 CHF.
The timekeeper is presented in a choice of two stainless steel cases and may be either satin-finished or coated in matte black PVD.
Beating inside the case is a Swiss made automatic movement.
Of course, like it is often the case with “art” watches, the movement plays second fiddle here with the most attention given to the dial.
As you may have already guessed, the Artya Artpiece 1/1 features a unique layered dial with a colored liquid seen through a glass.
Treated in a special way, the glass looks like a layer of ice covering a bottomless abyss on Jupiter’s moon Europa that hides invisible monsters that are yet to be discovered.
Very interesting timekeeper, that.
