The new Frederique Constant Maxime Manufacture Automatic Lady Chocolate (ref. FC-700MPCD3MDZ9) self-winding wrist watch offers you an elegant combination of steel, rose gold, diamonds, chocolate-brown color scheme and a manufacture-made FC-700 automatic caliber.
If you will take just a second to look through the specification of the new Frederique Constant Maxime Manufacture Automatic Lady Chocolate, you will immediately understand that this is a smaller, designed exclusively for ladies version of the recently released Frederique Constant Maxime Manufacture Automatic Silicium men’s wrist watch.
Both watches share the same dial layout with the simple date indicator placed at 6 hours. Both watches lack a seconds hand.
The extremely high level of similarity between the two models is easily explained: both timekeepers belong to the same family and are powered by Frederique Constant’s new Caliber FC-700 automatic movement.
Developed and built at FC’s own manufacturing facility, the caliber comes equipped with a skeletonized gold oscillating weight, and features circular graining on its bridges, as well as the famous Cotes de Geneva motif on its branded rotor.
The main difference between the two is that the ladies watch is presented in a slightly smaller case around 39 mm in diameter, while the other version ships in a 42 mm body.
Visually, the Maxime Manufacture Automatic Lady Chocolate features more elegant, yet also more festive appearance, mainly thanks to the 58 diamonds totaling 0.85 carats that adore its fixed bezel and the dial.
As you can see on the pictures, the watch offers a level of decoration that we rarely expect from a second-tier brand. Its chocolate-colored mother-of-pearl dial is adorned with a beautifully executed sunburst guilloche pattern that makes me remember the new Omega Ladymatic DeVille (Ref. 422.214.171.124.63.001) ladies watch that, too, sports an elegant brown dial.
Although it would be nice to see this watch in a full-gold body, I must admit that this steel-gold mixte, too, makes the watch look very elegant and refined. It is also nice to note that the watch is actually not too expensive: for an MSRP of roughly $7000 (as usual, depends on your local taxes and custom duties) you get quite a lot bang for the buck. Not a basement bargain, but still quite reasonable price for all the gold and diamonds mixed into a very elegant package.
Looks like Frederique Constant has just made yet another step in the right direction.
