Peter Tanisman, the Swiss-based luxury brand of Turkish origin that sells not only watches, but also highly expensive jewelry items, keeps introducing new and new versions of its Carrousel model. While there were highly expensive versions paved with dozens (if not hundreds) of diamonds, this new, more modest, Peter Tanisman Carrousel Black Attitude predictably comes in a jet black case, which is treated with PVD process. Oh, don’t you worry: there are still a couple of diamonds left on it.
Sporting the same H-shaped body whole 41 millimeters in length and just 30 millimeters in width, the watch is equipped with the usual ETA E01.701 quartz caliber that we have seen in previous iterations of the watch. Not particularly sophisticated (it only displays the minimal hours and minutes), the movement is still quite reliable and accurate.
Currently used by such luxury brands as Cartier, Longines, Hamilton and many others, the time-proven movement is built on 5 synthetic rubies and has an annual accuracy of +/- 144 seconds.
As usual, there are two main features that this watch is trying to attract your attention with. The first, of course, is the mobile cylinder, which is placed between the timekeeper’s bezel and the lugs. Decorated with sunburst guilloche that mimics the same pattern on the dial, the cylinder is also decorated with a pair of diamonds totaling around 0.07 carats.
The second is more subtle: you will probably only notice it while trying to set time. Right, there is no setting crown! The caliber ETA E01.701 is equipped with a set of “corrector” push-pieces that allow you to manipulate the hour and minute hands moving them clockwise or counterclockwise in 1-minute and 1-hour steps making the pointers always precisely aligned with the hour markers (not if there are too many of them, but I still like the idea.)
Thanks to the use of polished steel, the dial of the piece is also quite legible since both hands and the four hour markers at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock look extremely contrast on the black background of the face.
As you can see on the photo above, the new Peter Tanisman Carrousel Black Attitude is attached to a lady’s wrist with a rather unusual version of a black satin strap, which is lined with red leather for better comfort and practicality.
Not sure about the price of this thing, but it looks like a pretty expensive trinket.
