Breitling Transocean Chronograph 1915

The new Breitling Transocean Chronograph 1915 (ref. AB141112/G799-154A) is a wristwatch that nicely mixes its modern design language with visual elements from models dating back to as many as hundred years ago. While some of these elements (or rather the way they are mixed together) look a bit controversial, this new variety seems like a very nice offer for a person who finds their signature models like Navitimer and Chronomat a bit too arrogant and tasteless for a person of good taste.

JeanRichard Terrascope Automatic 39mm

Unveiled last December, the new JeanRichard Terrascope (ref. 60510D56A602-11A) for the first time in its brief history gets significantly reduced in size. Probably trying to kill two birds with one stone by offering a timekeeper that can be worn both by males and females alike, as well as getting attention from the skinnier type of watchbuying crowd that deem the 44-45 mm watches too larger for their delicate wrists, the Swiss-based watchmaker has a good chance of making the Terrascope family a must have for a true aficionado.

Steinhart ST 10 Anniversary Edition (Ref. L0810)

Celebrating its tenth year in business, the German watchmaking brand has recently presented its Steinhart ST 10 Anniversary Edition (Ref. L0810) limited edition wristwatch. For a change, the timekeeper is powered by a very neatly decorated hand-wound movement and also features a fairly unusual dial layout that some may find a bit, well, too unusual. As bulky as it is, the gadget is still compact enough for a sporty daily beater. Perhaps, the only thing that may turn some people off is the price: €1290 (including VAT, but not including shipping costs) seems a bit too steep for a Steinhart.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Calendar Meteorite

The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Calendar Meteorite (refs. Q1558421 & Q1552540) features the same well-known dial layout spiced with a nice-looking dial plate cut from a meteorite. Although the material is not terribly rare (eBay is full with all sorts of celestial stones), it usually takes a very skilled artisan to cut the stone at an angle that allows it to truly shine. Also, there is a great deal of wealthy persons fed up with the usual enameled or engine-turned dials that usually accompany dressy timekeepers. This gorgeous new model seems to be designed with the nerds in mind: the sort of guys that made their fortune not selling oil, or diamonds, or other raw materials, but offering the crowd software that actually makes their life a lot easier.

Seiko Recraft Automatic (Ref. SNKM97)

The Japanese watchmaker has fairly recently presented a line of affordable dress watches. Coming in different color variations and featuring both stainless steel and gold-toned bodies, the new Seiko Recraft collection comes in an unexpectedly finely crafted (albeit, a bit too oversized) case and is powered by an in-house Caliber 7S26 self-winding movement: the same inexpensive, but bullet-proof job that also animated their well-known Seiko SKX781 Orange Monster diving watch.

Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Tourbillon with Gold Bridge (Ref. 99490D53P703-CKHA)

The new Girard-Perregaux Cat's Eye Tourbillon with Gold Bridge (Ref. 99490D53P703-CKHA) delivers a clever mix of precious stones (more than three hundred of them), beautifully decorated mother-of-pearl and finely sculpted white gold. In fact, this new model looks like one of the most exciting offerings released by the Swiss brand during the last couple of years. If price is not an issue, this gorgeous wristwatch will probably make a very good Valentine's Day gift for your loved one.

Bulgari Octo Maserati Limited Edition

Celebrating a centenary of the Italian car manufacturer Maserati, the new Bulgari Octo Maserati Limited Edition (ref. 920007208) automatic wristwatch not only delivers one of the finest "sporty" designs currently available on the market, but also comes powered by an impressive (albeit outsourced from another watchmaking house) engine that rivals the gorgeous 4.7-liter V8 engine of Maserati's latest GranTurismo MC Stradale sport car.

Bulova AccuSwiss Type A-15 Automatic

Inspired by a model that was commissioned by the US Air Force around 70 years ago, the Bulova AccuSwiss Type A-15 (ref. 63A119) can be a very nice option for a person looking for a vintage-styled pilot's watch, but not willing to opt for a "standard" German Luftwaffe B-Uhr-style timekeeper. Some may find the combination of black dial with bright orange luminous compound on hands with dirty lemon 24-hour numerals a bit, well, tasteless, but it is in fact how the original watch looked, so just get used to it.
