Deep Blue Daynight Recon 500M Automatic Diver American

The automatic Deep Blue Daynight Recon 500M is one of the most attractive "diving tools" on the market if you don't count in the last year's CALDIVER 500 "complication" model. Rated for 500 meters of water resistance, it features a case, which is not only robust, but also dressy in its own rugged way, and a unidirectional 120-click rotating bezel with the usual submersion timer. That, as well as a nice combination of their signature tritium tubes on hands and hour markers, and Superluminova-painted indices and minute marks on the ceramic bezel inlay, makes the Daynight Recon not only easily readable but also a real pleasure to look at!

Swiss

The 2012 Luminox Deep Dive 500M 1500 Collection (refs. A.1512 & A.1513) is a minor facelift of their 2011 Deep Dive LLT military-style diver, but with a less tactical, more civilian touch to it. Instead of the stealthy black body, the latest version sports a satin-finished steel body and a more traditional rotating bezel that now sports a painted aluminum insert. Still, the watch keeps the signature features of the earlier model with its patent-pending bezel locking system that also acts as a crown protector and sports the same impressive power reserve rating of whole 50 ATM.

Breitling SuperOcean 42 White Water Automatic 1500M Swiss

The SuperOcean 42 line of extreme divers has recently been updated with this great-looking Breitling SuperOcean 42 White Water (ref. A17364) limited edition model. With its snow-white unidirectionally rotating bezel, the White Water is going to be a winner if the tremendous popularity of mobile phones, ultrabooks, and luxury cars of the same color is of any indication.

Maurice Lacroix Les Classiques Phases de Lune Automatic Swiss

For the year 2012, the Swiss watchmaker has seriously facelifted its Maurice Lacroix Les Classiques Phases de Lune collection. Compared to the currently available 2010 Classique Phases de Lune (ref. LC6068-YS101-13E) version that was revealed at the SIHH 2010 trade show, the new watch undoubtedly looks less dramatic (and, frankly, more generic with its Longines Master Collection-like exterior,) but is at the same time more in line with their current model range.

Saint Honore Trocadero Automatic Open Dial Fashion / Swiss

Claimed to be inspired by the famous district in the center of Paris near the Eiffel Tower, the new Saint Honore Trocadero Automatic Open Dial (ref. 880020 1NRN) is a nicely decorated, yet somewhat understated timekeeper that, while being powered by a completely unimpressive, mass-produced movement and featuring limited functionality, still brings you an interesting, even pleasant to look at design of its open-worked dial.

Deep Blue BlueTech Master 500 Diver Automatic American

The new Deep Blue BlueTech Master 500 has just gone on sale on the U.S.-based watchmaker's website. As reasonably priced and easily recognizable as usual, the Master 500 throws into the mix a luminous bezel with a trendy ceramic inlay, a wide choice of dial colors, and an impressive water resistance rating of whole 500 meters: more than enough even for a professional timekeeper. The only thing that it lacks is the brand's signature tritium-filled micro-tubes that simply cannot be adequately replaced by chemical compounds. But that is a personal preference, of course, and I have an impression that this particular collection targets those very people who try to stay away from radioactive substances regardless of how virtually harmless they are.

Tudor Pelagos Diver Titanium 500M Automatic Swiss

On the heels of the recent Heritage Black Bay 200M Automatic Diver (Ref. 79220R) the Swiss watchmaker has also presented an even more extreme model that is claimed to be inspired by their "classic" pieces. Although not a reissue in the true meaning of the word, this new Tudor Pelagos Diver Titanium 500M (ref. 25500TN) is strongly influenced by the 1968 Tudor Snowflake Ref. 7021. Not being a tool watch any longer, the premium-priced 25500TN is a lot more refined than its predecessor.

Glycine Combat Golden Eye Automatic Diver Swiss

Glycine has finally updated its military-styled 'Combat' collection with a new version. Offered in a black PVD-treated case with rose gold PVD elements, the timekeeper is -rather pretentiously- named Glycine Combat Golden Eye (Ref. 3863.399 C6-TBA9). Well, I truly hope that next year they will offer the same model with the bezel and crown crafted from bronze. Although not as flashy (if you can apply the adjective to such a noble alloy with its aura of adventure and glory,) on certain markets it's going to be smashing.

Tissot Le Locle Automatic Chronometer Edition in PVD Rose Gold Swiss

Powered by a mass-produced ETA 2824-2 automatic ebuche, the last year's Tissot Le Locle automatic chronometer won the prestigious Concours de Chronometrie 2011 in the "Classic" category easily beating the gorgeous (and also a lot more expensive) F.P. Journe Chronometre Souverain with its in-house caliber F.P Journe 1304. This year, the Swiss watchmaker decided to build on the success of the award winning model by introducing their new Tissot Le Locle Automatic Chronometer Edition (ref. T006.408.36.057.00).

Rado D-Star 200 Automatic Diver Swiss

With its new Rado D-Star 200 automatic diver, the Swiss-based brand has given its D-Star line a new twist. Soon to be available in two versions (blue dial, ref. R15960203 and an even sexier slate grey dial, ref. R15959103,) the 2012 collection is the first modern Rado watch that can actually be used as a real diving companion!
