Alfex Truly Gorgeous Ladies with Swarovski crystals

December 17, 2010

Alfex Truly Gorgeous Quartz Ladies Watch with Swarovski crystals (Ref. 5661.755)

Just in time for Christmas, a minor (yet still having a long history of making fine wristwatches) brand that specializes in fashion and designer timepieces has presented its new Alfex Truly Gorgeous Quartz (Ref. 5661.755) adorned with Swarovski crystals. Although, when it comes to decorating timekeepers with precious (or just precious-looking) stones, most brands tend to start with the body, Alfex (quite wisely) decided to limit the use of the crystals to the comfortable-looking, multi-piece bracelet.

December 14, 2010

Corum Admiral`s Cup Tides 48 in Titanium (Ref. 277.931.06/0371 AN52)

Corum has updated its colorful Admiral’s Cup Tides model with a monochromatic version in a huge 48 mm case. Although the body of the new version is crafted from extremely lightweight, and also relatively easy to scratch titanium alloy, the bezel and the crown guard of the piece feature a nice layer of black vulcanized rubber that protects the most prominent parts of the piece from accidental damage.

The 2011 Fortis B-42 Stratoliner Chronograph Limited Edition (Ref. 665.13.19 L.01) is available in a medium-sized black PVD-coated stainless steel case and features lots of 18-karat solid(!) rose gold elements not only on its dial and case but even on the fixed bezel with the inevitable tachymeter scale.

Philosophy of Time: JS Watch Co. Islandus Chronograph

December 11, 2010

JS Watch Co. Islandus Chronograph automatic watch

The new JS Watch Co. Islandus Chronograph collection of self-winding watches was first announced by the Iceland-based brand only a couple of months ago. Surprisingly, it took the watchmaking specialist a very short span of time to actually start selling the timepiece. Featuring a deceptively simple, vintage-styled design of its dial with all of its elements carefully thought over and executed with great attention to details, the new chronograph comes in a somewhat oversized stainless steel body, which is a little too big to my taste, but still looks great on a wrist of an average person.

Breitling Transocean Finally Gets an In-House Caliber

December 10, 2010

Breitling Transocean Chronograph 01 Limited Edition

With the new limited-edition Transocean Chronograph 01, Breitling somewhat loses its present individuality of a maker of some seriously blingy sh*t, but makes a good claim to the niche of elegant dressy chronographs powered by manufacture-made movements.

DeWitt has just revealed its new self-winding Twenty-8-Eight Regulator A.S.W. limited edition (ref. T8.TA.001) equipped with their proprietary Automatic Sequential Winding system. Presented in a generously proportioned 18-karat rose gold body 46 millimeters in diameter and almost 13 millimeters thick, the watch makes an impression as strong as a stun gun discharge.
