A.B.Art Special OA All Black(-On-Black)

October 22, 2010

A.B.Art Special OA All Black

I don’t know why, but the monochromatic (and stealthy) black-on-black color scheme is all the rage these days. With its Special OA All Black model, A.B.Art jumps into the “Black is the new Black” bandwagon. While many analysts consider the “bandwagon” strategy dangerous in a sense that you risk getting into the trend that is just about to make a U-turn, the fairly limited number of watches that the Swiss-based brand plans to deliver minimizes the risk of them being stuck with a bunch of unsold timekeepers.

The 2010 Rado Ceramica DiaStar Digital Automatic employs a movement that was designed by ETA as an answer for the hybrid-powered Japanese quartz calibers. Reliable and Precise: the Bell & Ross Vintage Original BR 126 Black Officer Chronograph

October 20, 2010

Bell & Ross Vintage Original BR 126 Black Officer Chronograph

Being biased towards chronographs (at least, when it comes to so-called ‘aviators’,) I must admit that I am almost in love with this mirror-polished Bell & Ross Vintage Original BR 126 Officer Chronograph. Offered in a refined mid-sized body that is inspired by pilot’s watches of the pre-WWII era, this iteration of the BR 126 model brings you a convincing combination of a relatively clean, easy-to-read dial and a slightly modified version of a reliable and precise Swiss-made automatic movement.

Corum Admiral's Cup Chronograph 48 Grand Prix

Celebrating its long-standing partnership with the Okalys-Corum Team, Corum has presented a special-edition Admiral’s Cup Chronograph 48 Grand Prix (ref. 753.935.06-0231.AK57) model. As it becomes usual for the niche of “sporty” luxury chronograph, the new timepiece combines such materials as light-weight titanium, elastic rubber, and leather with a textile-look finish.

Seiko Ananta Spring Drive Moon Phase

Seiko Ananta Spring Drive Moon Phase (ref. SNR023)

During the Baselworld 2010 trade show, Seiko introduced one of the most brilliant members of the Ananta series: the Ananta Spring Drive Moon Phase (ref. SNR023). Although coming with virtually no decoration that we usually expect from a European brand, the new timepiece looks as refined as a ceremonial Tachi sword.

Perrelet Big Central Moonphase in Titanium (ref. A5000/2)

The last year’s Perrelet Big Central Moonphase is now reintroduced in titanium as (ref. A5000/2) model. Resurrected only six years ago, when the brand was sold to Miguel Rodriguez of the Festina Group, Perrelet is doing its best to reestablish itself as a haute horlogerie brand.
