The 2012 Dubey & Schaldenbrand Grand Dome DT Vintage 1946 chronograph is basically a refinished version of the 2011 D&S Grand Dome DT (ref. GDOM-ST-BKS-LS) model that was first revealed a year earlier. However, the refreshed version is equipped with an even more appealing vintage-styled dial with almost the same set of vertically aligned sub-dials. While the original with its glossy and carbon-fiber-style surfaces was more high-tech, the new version has a certain Patek Philippe aura about it.

The Swiss watchmaker Louis Erard has updated its Excellence collection of luxury timekeepers with a full calendar Louis Erard Excellence Moon Phase 24 Hour Ref. 80 231 AA 01. Featuring an extremely elegant design of its dial and animated by a robust and reliable chronograph movement, this new device seems like an accessory of choice for an office worker who can’t afford an IWC Portuguese yet.
Cuervo y Sobrinos, a relatively obscure brand that was established on Cuba and is now owned by a Swiss-based company, has presented a new version of their deliciously retro-styled Pirata model. Now called Pirata Complete Calendar Limited Edition (ref. 3051.5NF), it packs the usual functionality of an ETA 7751 caliber into a not-so-common combination of steel, titanium, and bronze.
Maurice de Mauriac, a Zurich-based brand that surfaced a couple of years ago, has offered its new, highly customizable Moon Chronograph. Powered by a version of the omnipresent *yawn* ETA Valjoux 7750 chronograph movement, the watch may be offered in just about any size or dial decoration of your liking.
The relatively small German watchmaking brand Limes finally starts selling its new Limes Pharo Full Calendar Chronograph with Moonphase. Powered by the wide-spread ETA Valjoux 7751 full-calendar chronograph movement, which is both reliable and accurate and is still a mechanism of choice in the $2000-$5000 niche, this dressy, yet sort of generic wristwatch could have been a nice Christmas gift for just about any man, if it wasn’t so overpriced.
At the SIHH 2010 trade show, Baume et Mercier has presented its 2010 Classima Executives XL Chronograph and Complete Calendar (ref. 8870). Not offering anything terribly new when it comes to styling, the collection still featured a good and robust movement that would probably make this timepiece a good value proposition if the price is right.
