The French luxury jeweler keeps introducing skeletonized timepieces. The latest in the series is the hand-wound Cartier Santos Dumont Carbon Skeleton Titanium (Ref. W2020052). Officially presented at the SIHH 2011 trade fair. and featuring their signature “full skeleton” dial, the watch looks like a step in the right direction from their previous attempts.

Panerai Luminor 1950 Destro 8 Days Titanio PAM 368
Panerai has once again updated its range of watches designed especially for left-handed people. Not adding anything new in style, the recently presented Luminor 1950 Destro 8 Days Titanio Special Edition (PAM 368) certainly adds something in flesh.
Look at this Richard Mille with a “Declutchable” Rotor!
During the SIHH 2011 event, Richard Mille presented its RM 030 model with a so-called “declutchable” rotor: a complication that, unlike something as unnecessarily sophisticated as a tourbillon or a minute repeater, is not just nice to have but is actually quite useful for many reasons.
Designed to slow down the process of wearing-out of the self-winding mechanism, the declutchable rotor is what it is: a rotor that, colloquially speaking, disengages its “clutch” the same way an automatic gearbox declutches, um, automatically when you press on the brake pedal while stopping at a traffic light. In this particular instance, the winding system is physically disengaged from the winding barrel as soon as the estimated power reserve reaches the 50-hour mark.
A BMW On Your Wrist: Richard Mille RM 029 Big Date
The 2011 Richard Mille RM 029 Automatic Big Date offers RM’s signature tonneau case, an expertly skeletonized movement, and an oversized date module. Soon to be available in three versions of its mildly oversized body, the RM 029, as always, is going to be -ahem- reassuringly expensive and deliciously exclusive: just what we like, right?
Monochromatic Corum Admiral`s Cup Tides 48 in Titanium
Corum has updated its colorful Admiral’s Cup Tides model with a monochromatic version in a huge 48 mm case. Although the body of the new version is crafted from extremely lightweight, and also relatively easy to scratch titanium alloy, the bezel and the crown guard of the piece feature a nice layer of black vulcanized rubber that protects the most prominent parts of the piece from accidental damage.
Breitling for Bentley Supersports Chronograph 49mm
The Breitling for Bentley Supersports is an interesting piece for those dreaming about Bentley sports cars, but still lacking financial means (or courage) to actually buy one. Crafted from high-grade stainless steel, the chronograph is supplied in an extremely massive body, which will probably weigh half a ton and could be successfully used during a routine free-weight workout by advanced lifters.
