Dubail Paris, a particularly expensive boutique, which is located on the famous Place Vendome, will soon start selling a limited edition version of the dressy Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Contemporaine Bi-Retrograde. Sporting the same hours and minutes, as well as days of week and date indicators, the Ref. 86020 differs from the 2010 model only with the choice of materials and color combinations.
The stately Overseas collection has recently been updated with a version with a lacquered blue dial and a leather band of the same noble color. The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Blue Chronograph (Ref. 49150/000A-9745) is currently available exclusively in the United States and in VC boutiques.
Next month, during the upcoming SIHH 2014 show, VC will officially reveal its Vacheron Constantin Malte High Jewellery Tourbillon (ref. 30630/000G-9899). Featuring 418 baguette-cut diamonds on its body, crown, dial and even on the white gold folding clasp, the watch features an “invisible setting” technique that demands a team of highly skilled designers and jewelers and literally hundreds of man-hours for each timekeeper.
Vacheron Constantin just never fails to deliver one masterpiece after another. The 2013 Patrimony Ultra-Thin Minute Repeater (Ref. 30110/000R-9793) is not only a perfect dress watch for the extremely wealthy watch lovers. It also sports a wonderful hand-wound caliber that is claimed to be the thinnest minute repeater mechanism in the industry.
Offered at almost $380,000 and crafted from expensive Platinum 950 alloy, the 2013 Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionnelle 14-Day Tourbillon (Ref. 89000/000P-9843) with its modest styling and compact size is a quintessence of inconspicuous consumption. With its moderately oversized case and a time-proven, bullet-proof reliable mechanism, it is a trinket for the kind of people who would prefer a vintage Rolls-Royce to a brand new Koenigsegg.
With its new Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionnelle (ref. 43075/000R-9737), the House expands its line of gorgeously simple dress watches. Equipped with the good old VC 1120 automatic caliber that was, for example, also used to power the ultra-thin Historique 1968 collection. It, too, features a classic “two-hander” layout and has a chance of becoming a good investment, since, after the initial “first step out of the store” drop of 20 or maybe 25 percent, its aftermarket resale price will possibly only rise as it will age gracefully together with its first owner.
In January 2011, Vacheron Constantin has presented its Historique Aronde 1954 (Ref. 81018/000R-9657). Featuring an unusual shape of its massive 18-karat rose gold case, the Aronde 1954, unlike millions of generic-looking “classic” luxury timekeepers, makes a strong and, what’s even more important, lasting impression.
During the annual SIHH 2011 trade show where creme de la creme of the industry showcases their new products, Vacheron Constantin -one of the oldest Swiss-based Manufactures- presented its gorgeous Patrimony Traditionnelle World Time. Designated as “ref. 86060/000R-9640,” it features a sophisticated second time-zone display that comes courtesy of a complex in-house mechanism.
Vacheron Constantin never misses a chance to show off its watchmaking prowess especially when it comes to such a prestigious event as the annual SIHH show. At this year’s SIHH 2011 even, the brand has introduced the new Patrimony Contemporaine Perpetual Calendar (Ref. 43175/000R-9687) in rose gold to its gorgeous and dressy Patrimony Contemporaine collection.
At the SIHH 2011, Vacheron Constantin has presented its new hit: the highly-customizable Quai de l’Ile Retrograde Annual Calendar (ref. 86040/000R-I0P29). Sporting a unique modular case design, the Quai de l’Ile not only allows you to build a real Frankenstein of a timekeeper combining all sorts of materials and textures but also makes it easier to always keep the piece in a mint condition simply by replacing scratched or dinged parts while servicing it.
