Hublot Big Bang 38 mm Automatic Ladies

December 23, 2010

Hublot Big Bang 38 mm Automatic Ladies Watch

Hublot has recently presented a new Big Bang 38 mm collection equipped with a Sellita SW300-based HUB 1110 automatic movement. There is also a more practical -albeit not as *ahem* classy- “Swiss Made” quartz caliber. The HUB 1110 is a very basic mechanism that is only slightly refinished and fine-tuned above the basic specs to meet stricter standards of the ultra-luxury segment. Yet, you may still want to consider acting fast if you are interested in this gadget. Luxury wristwatches featuring self-winding movements (instead of, you know, quartz) are rare species in this niche and, something tells me, the collection won’t stay in production for long.

Alfex Truly Gorgeous Ladies with Swarovski crystals

Alfex Truly Gorgeous Quartz Ladies Watch with Swarovski crystals (Ref. 5661.755)

Just in time for Christmas, a minor (yet still having a long history of making fine wristwatches) brand that specializes in fashion and designer timepieces has presented its new Alfex Truly Gorgeous Quartz (Ref. 5661.755) adorned with Swarovski crystals. Although, when it comes to decorating timekeepers with precious (or just precious-looking) stones, most brands tend to start with the body, Alfex (quite wisely) decided to limit the use of the crystals to the comfortable-looking, multi-piece bracelet.

New Boucheron Tourbillon Completes the Sheherazade Collection

Boucheron Sheherazade Tourbillon hand-wound ladies watch

The high-jewelry Boucheron Sheherazade Tourbillon features lots of gold, and diamonds, sapphires, amethysts, and other precious stones that I wasn’t able to recognize. With its large case measuring in whole 42 millimeters in diameter, it takes a lot of wrist real estate, too.

Hermes Cape Cod Tonneau Bleu de Malte

Hermes Cape Cod Tonneau Bleu de Malte

The new Hermes Cape Cod Tonneau Bleu de Malte may be a nice choice for those looking for a branded gift from the legendary French haute couture brand that started 170 years ago as a saddle-maker and gradually became one of the most respected fashion houses that currently specializes in fine (and very expensive) leather goods, perfumery and, yes, watches. And it looks like they take this watchmaking business extremely seriously.

The “Digital” Delaneau Amazone Blueberries 1608

Delaneau Amazone Blueberries 1608

Delaneau, a fashion brand that specializes in ultra-luxury items designed for ladies, is selling its brilliant Amazone Blueberries 1608 one-off. Besides a wonderful mix of materials, textures, and colors, the new timepiece also features an unusual all-digital “interface” on its dial with the usual hour and minute hands replaced with a pair of jumping hours and minutes indicators.

SIHH 2010: Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Lady Tourbillon Feathers

At the SIHH 2010, Jaeger-LeCoultre has introduced several collections designed for the most beautiful part of humankind. Among the new offerings, is an absolutely gorgeous (I know the word is rapidly losing its value, but the adjective seems to be the most appropriate in this particular instance) Master Lady Tourbillon Feathers that looks the most appealing thanks to its innovative dial design that includes, well, pieces of real feathers.
