The Swiss-based brand Fortis has just released its new Fortis Marinemaster Vintage Chronograph (ref. 800.20.80 L.01). The timekeeper pays homage to its eponymous predecessor from the 1970s. Comparing pictures of both models I must admit that they look almost identical to each other with only minor differences here and there. However, sporting a significantly less remarkable water resistance rating, the watch leaves a somewhat dubious impression.
Bell & Ross BR03-90 Grande Date & Reserve de Marche
It came to our attention that Bell & Ross will soon start selling a new version of their BR03 model. Presented in the same stainless steel body, the 2012 BR03-90 Grande Date & Reserve de Marche now sports the well-known Soprod 9090 chronometer movement.
At Baselworld 2012 Breitling Introduces the new Chronomat GMT
Called Breitling Chronomat GMT 44mm, the new automatic wristwatch will be presented in a less intimidating stainless steel body only 44 millimeters in size. Equipped with a second time zone indicator, a chronograph and a date display, the watch delivers practically all functions that you can expect from a “sporty” timekeeper.
Piaget Emperador Dragon Automatic in Rose Gold
The Emperador Dragon (Ref. G0A36570) sports two esoteric symbols on its glossy black dial that will guarantee an owner of this piece wealth, luck, and prosperity during the whole year 2012. Or so it seems.
On the Shoulders of Giants: Roamer Vanguard Quartz
The quartz-powered Roamer Vanguard is strongly influenced (to put it mildly) by the legendary Jules Audemars Extra-Thin collection by Audemars Piguet. Although featuring the same style and looking great in general, in small details the watch, to my deepest regret, clearly shows that it is at least ten times cheaper than the gorgeous piece of technical marvel that it pays homage to.
Hublot’s New Classic Fusion Skeleton Looks Surprisingly Elegant
The Swiss brand has just disseminated an official press release regarding its upcoming Hublot Classic Fusion Extra-Thin Skeleton collection. Soon to be available both in their proprietary King Gold alloy, as well as in more understated titanium, the series combines an ultra-thin manufacture-made hand-wound movement with a nicely skeletonized dial. It could have been slightly smaller though.
