TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 5 automatic Swiss

TAG Heuer's new Carrera Calibre 5 "diver" will go on sale in a matter of weeks, and it looks like you have just stumbled upon a fine back-to-school present for your kid! Just keep in mind that, with its nicely sculpted 39-mm case rated for not very impressive depths of just 100 meters, the Calibre 5 is not a real diving tool. With such a poultry WR rating one might rarely use it for anything more adventurous that swimming and, maybe, some basic snorkeling.

UTS 1000M Diver 10th year anniversary special edition model German

To mark its 10th anniversary, the German watchmaking company UTS Watches has created a special edition version of its Bauhaus-styled (or, at least, deliberately minimalistic in the layout of its dial) UTS 1000M Diver automatic wristwatch. Still offered in a slightly oversized 43 mm steel case and powered by the same time-proven ETA 2824-2 automatic movement, the special edition model offers rugged, simple design of its exterior that, together with its impressive water resistance rating and quality movement, makes this new device an almost perfect tool watch (of course, only if you are ready to pay for this "tool" a price of a slightly used Omega Seamaster.)

Oris Rectangular Bob Dylan Limited Edition timepiece Swiss

Revealed in the end of January, 2009, this Oris Rectangular Bob Dylan (ref. 01 733 7618 4084-Set) limited edition automatic wrist watch is not an all-new model, but is simply a slightly refreshed version of the Oris Rectangular Date line that was introduced last year. However, with its 37.80 mm x 39.00 mm rectangular case, the timepiece is considerably larger and, for some reason, is powered by a different movement.

Archimede Pilot T Titanium watch: do you feel lighter now? German

Crafted from high-grade titanium alloy, the new Archimede Pilot T tries to solve the usual problem of an oversized timekeeper: excessive weight that sometimes makes wearing a "sporty" wristwatch an ordeal if it spends on your wrist more than the usual ten or twelve hours. Tipping the scales at just 65 grams (approximately 11 grams or about 17 percent less than its stainless steel sibling from the same collection,) this laconic "pilot" seems to be a lot more comfortable to wear while not putting an unbearable burden on your wallet.

Archimede Black Pilot M and Chronograph PVD watches pays homage to Luftwaffe? German

The German watch maker Ickler GmbH (which is better known for its more expensive Limes brand) has introduced a pair of new members to its Archimede Black Pilot series. Offering the same deliberately anonymous design as dozens of other affordable wristwatches out there that are styled after the iconic B-Uhr timekeepers immortalized by the German Luftwaffe (compare them, for example, to Steinhart Nav B-Uhr collection and it would be hard to tell the difference,) this watch attempts to win your attention combining three main factors: great Swiss Made self-winding caliber, unrivaled customization ability, and, of course, the matte-black coating that makes the watch as stealthy as a night bomber and as durable as a gun.
