Around a year ago, on an order from U.S. military, the young British watchmaking brand has issued a special edition Bremont C-17 Globemaster watch with UTC and chronograph functionality. Supplied exclusively to Boeing C-17 Globemaster III crews stationed on American bases around the world, the watch immediately attracted the attention of numerous enthusiasts. Yielding to numerous requests from the community, the British company finally decided to introduce a civilian version. Prepare to love the new Bremont World Timer ALT1!
The high-tech Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec Four X (Ref. 00.10620.22.93.01) chronometer was officially introduced at the Baselworld 2012 trade show in March 2012.
The Swiss-based International Watch Co. has just presented its new IWC Pilot’s Worldtimer (Ref. IW326201) that makes life significantly easier both for pilots and their passengers.
The 2012 Deep Blue CALDIVER 500 comes loaded with functions, those including an annual calendar, a second time zone display and a power reserve indicator. I am not sure whether a professional diving watch indeed needs so many displays. However, those looking for a monster-sized diver that could also be worn as a casual watch may find the list of functions quite useful.
As the -enormous length of the- name of the new model explicitly states, the new limited edition Fortis F-43 Flieger Chronograph Alarm GMT (Ref. 703.20.92 LC05) is literally overstuffed with features, those including not only the usual chronograph and second time zone, but also a nice mechanical alarm module!
The Japanese-owned American brand will soon release its limited-edition dressy Bulova Accutron Conqueror (ref. 63B152). Touted as being based on the vintage 1927 Lone Eagle model, the gadget’s main purpose is said “to commemorate Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh’s monumental solo non-stop flight across the Atlantic Ocean in 1927M.” Well, it seems that the assertion is a little far-fetched given that it is powered by a modern caliber and is basically just another “homage” to a long-forgotten watch. Still, the new piece could become a wonderful Christmas present for those in love with the art-deco culture of the Roaring Twenties: a post-WWI decade when Europe witnessed one of the fastest economic growth periods in its history.
The German brand will soon start selling its new Sinn EZM 10 “Einsatzzeitmesser” Pilot with a 24-hour GMT display and an impressive (at least, for a pilot’s watch) water resistance rating of whole 200 meters. As the German watchmaker readily admits, the new automatic chronograph is a tribute to timekeepers that were powered by the legendary caliber Lemania 5100. No longer in production, it was adored by the German military thanks to an almost unrivaled combination of legibility and reliability that it provided. The secret, of course, was in the unique layout of its chronograph display.
At the upcoming Cabinet de Curiosites annual luxury event in London, the Swiss manufacturer will introduce the new version of its World Wide Time Control (ww.tc). The Girard-Perregaux ww.tc Cabinet de Curiosites Thomas Erber (Ref. 49820-32-788SFK6A) will stun you with a new color scheme that looks like it was inspired by the 2007 Portal video game. Although events of this kind are often dominated by one-offs, the redesigned watch will be limited to the whole five individually numbered pieces.
The Swiss Grande Maison Jaeger-LeCoultre has recently revealed a limited edition of its popular (albeit expensive) AMVOX5 model created together with the British luxury sports car maker Aston Martin. The Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX5 World Chronograph LMP1 (ref. Q193J480) will be produced in a limited run of only 250 pieces with most of them probably going into heavily guarded vaults of the British automaker’s most valued customers.
The American-based watchmaker has finally introduced a full-fledged flight computer that you can wear on your own wrist. Designed for real pilots, the quartz-powered multifunction Hamilton Khaki Flight Timer (ref. H64554431) was created together with Air Zematt, the Swiss helicopter transport and rescue service.
