In a matter of days, the Japanese conglomerate Seiko will start selling the new Grand Seiko Sport Collection Spring Drive GMT Limited Edition (Ref. SBGE245G) hybrid-powered wristwatch. With the luxury gadget being limited to the Japanese domestic market, the watch will be a bit difficult to come by if you happen to live on the other side of the globe. Yet, the device is so beautiful, so impressive that is seems to be absolutely worth going into all the trouble to get one.
With its extremely precise mechanism and a nice sporty case, the new Grand Seiko 55th Anniversary Spring Drive Chronograph (ref. SBGC013) looks like a perfect (if not a bit overpriced) choice for a person who already has a collection of Speedmasters and wants to spice it with a lot more technologically advanced timekeeper from Japan.
Japanese watches / Quartz watches
The famous Grand Seiko line of expensive timekeepers has recently been updated with a limited edition model. Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their signature Seiko Caliber 9F, the ultra-precise quartz movement that was first brought to market back in 1993, the Japanese watchmaker introduces their new Grand Seiko Caliber 9F 20th Anniversary Limited Edition (Ref. SBGX103) wrist watch.
At the last trade show in Basel, the luxury sub-brand of the Japanese watchmaking giant has presented a pair of limited edition versions of their GMT model. Called Grand Seiko GMT 10th Anniversary Edition, the model with reference number SBGM029 looks the most impressive with its noble blue dial and striking yellow gold accents of the second time zone indicator and the predictably "GMT" inscription at six o'clock.
Celebrating its 130th year in business, the Japanese jewelry and precision instruments-maker has presented its new Grand Seiko 130th Anniversary Limited Edition hand-wound watch, which is going to available both in Europe and North America. Looking like it's having the legendary Patek Philippe Calatrava line of minimalistic dress watches in its fine crosshairs, the new Commemorative Edition makes a subtle, but very firm stress on the "Grand" part of Grand Seiko brand.
