Seiko has recently updated its family of expensive divers with a new limited-edition model. Created together with the local Shogakukan publishing company, the new Seiko Prospex Marinemaster "Golgo 13" (Ref. SBBN023) pays homage to the iconic series of manga comic books, which is centered around the eponymous character who happens to be a professional assassin.
At the Baselworld 2012, the luxury sub-brand of the Japanese watchmaking giant has presented a pair of limited-edition versions of their GMT model. The Grand Seiko GMT 10th Anniversary Edition with the reference number SBGM029 is the most impressive with its noble blue dial and striking yellow gold accents of the second time zone indicator and the predictably "GMT" inscription at six o'clock.
Seiko has recently introduced yet another member of its line of accurate and not particularly expensive "aviators." The 2011 Solar Pilot Alarm Chronograph (ref. SSC009) offers a loud alarm, a bidirectionally rotating Breitling-style slide-rule bezel, as well as a 60-minute chronograph accurate up to 1/5th of a second.
Seiko's entry-level sub-brand has recently revealed a series of youth-oriented, sporty timepieces equipped with XXL-sized crown covers. The new Alba by Seiko Canteen AXHK21X was among them.
Celebrating its 130th year in business, the Japanese jewelry and precision instruments-maker has presented its new Grand Seiko 130th Anniversary Limited Edition (refs. SBGW033, SBGW040, and SBGW039) collection, which is going to be available both in Europe and North America. Looking like it's having the legendary Patek Philippe Calatrava line of minimalistic dress watches in its fine crosshairs, the new Commemorative Edition makes a subtle, but very firm stress on the "Grand" part of Grand Seiko brand.
The young German brand will soon start selling its 2011 Bombfrog BT25 Tactic diver illuminated by long-lasting tritium tubes.
