Versace Reve Carre Ladies with Caliber Ronda 762

St. Valentine’s Day is upon us and if you are still on the market for a nice gift for your loved one and can’t spare your month’s rent for an expensive timekeeper (I re-read this passage in 2026 and I cried a little, guys) this Versace Reve Carre Ladies may actually be a good deal.

I mean, gold-plated watches have always been kind of cheesy for me, but here you are getting not only the luxurious look (it’s not always about you, okay?) It’s about your loved one getting a low-maintenance gift that comes courtesy of a repairable Swiss-made quartz movement that has a battery life of whole ten years.

The Italian fashion label Gianni Versace S.p.A. was founded only thirty-something years ago, but sometimes I feel that it was here forever.

Established by the late Gianni Versace, the brand has almost immediately become a fashion design icon. And justly so, since their goods are not only expensive, there is some beauty and good taste in them, too.

Versace Reve Carre Quartz

Their entry-luxury Versace Reve Carre Collection is among those pieces that make a lady’s heart beat faster thanks to its impeccable finish and great exterior. The latter somehow manages to combine an interesting look and adequate ergonomics (a combination that you don’t see that often when it comes to timepieces sold by fashion brands.)

Its 30 x 30-millimeter gold-plated stainless steel case is well-proportioned. Even despite the watch sporting a completely flat (even the points of bracelet attachment on the relatively short lugs are placed just below the case’s middle line) profile, it will probably feel great on just about any woman’s wrist.

The gadget’s relatively thin profile of just 8 millimeters will make this Reve Carre usable with most types of attire.

Of course, the case won’t break any world record in terms of thinness (in fact, there are self-winding watches that are twice as thin as this one, but also about ten times more expensive,) but, again, it is practical enough for a modern woman.

The thin profile comes courtesy of the Ronda caliber 762.

This is a Swiss-made quartz movement that belongs to the Ronda’s “normtech” line. It is built on four jewels, features a gold-plated metal chassis, and is advertised as “repairable.”

By the way, Versace used the very same caliber to animate its Vanitas Quartz Collection that also sported a gold-plated steel exterior.

Black mother-of-pearl dial, detail

The watch is also available with a leather strap, but it’s the two-tone bracelet that makes it truly shine with understated elegance.

Its small setting crown is here not to make a statement, but to serve its function.

The Versace Reve Carre Ladies is available in several versions, but the most beautiful among them is the one in stainless and gold-plated steel pictured above.

Its black mother-of-pearl dial offers the best background for the square-shaped hour indexes that are made of gold-plated steel and are perfectly matched by four diamonds of the same shape.

Of course, the watch would feel even better if it was made of a winning combination of solid white and rose gold, but in that case, you wouldn’t be able to buy one at a pretty much affordable price of some €1500.
