The automatic Louis Erard Grey Heritage Chronograph (ref. 78 269 AA 03) leaves dubious impression. The mechanism that powers it has successfully passed the test of time in terms of reliability and accuracy, but is also as common as Bic ballpoint pens. The design of its dial is familiar to everyone and is easy to read, but is also as uninspiring as a phony Gibson. Well, it is a matter of personal preferences, as usual.
Xetum Tyndall PVD Three-Hander Is So Cool!
In a matter of days, the small California-based brand will start selling yet another version of its Tyndal model. The 2012 Xetum Tyndall PVD uses the same lug-less body design that now sports stealthy black PVD coating. Combined with the traditional 12h/24h scale and the instrument gauge-like design of hands and numerals, the watch that was originally designed as a hipster’s toy now looks like a real tactical timekeeper designed with SWAT officers in mind.
Glycine KMU 48 Black Hand-Wound Edition
Claimed to be inspired by military-style watches that Glycine produced during World War II, this oversized KMU 48 (ref. 3905.99AT.LB90) model has been here for ages. From time to time, the company refreshes the range with new versions, new finishes, and new materials, even including such high-tech ones as carbon fiber.
Featuring the same oversized steel case with black PVD treatment, and a refreshed dial, this Glycine KMU 48 Black is the new big thing in all meanings of this word.
Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver Monaco Limited Edition
Okay, here goes yet another limited-edition version of the Marine Diver collection. It is the fourth year in a row that the Swiss watchmaking brand sponsors the annual Monaco Yacht Show. This Ulysse Nardin Marine Diver Monaco (ref. 263-98LE-3C_MON) specifically celebrates this fact, which is only just considering that the diving companion looks like the best candidate for a nice trip on a newly bought vessel. The new version doesn’t differ too much from other Marine Divers, so I’ll be brief.
Hamilton Jazzmaster Auto Chrono (Ref. H32596551)
Hamilton has recently updated its Jazzmaster family with a new automatic chronograph that sports a fairly fresh Caliber H21 automatic movement that we have already seen inside the 2012 Khaki Aviation X-Patrol.
Based on the time-proven ETA Valjoux 7750 blank caliber, the movement features an upgraded energy storage module with a maximum power reserve extended over 60 hours.
Carl F. Bucherer Manero ChronoPerpetual Edition
Already having in its collection a model that combines a flyback chronograph with a perpetual calendar in a relatively compact, elegant body, the Swiss watchmaking house has recently decided to re-introduce the limited-edition model in two new versions. Available soon both in stainless steel and rose gold, the new Carl F. Bucherer Manero ChronoPerpetual automatic chronograph will arrive in two limited lots of 150 and 100 (ref. 00.10906.03.33.01 in 18-karat rose gold, pictured below) numbered pieces respectively. It will be pricey, too, but that’s to be expected from a watch of such unique pedigree.
