Fortis B-42 Stratoliner Chronograph Limited Edition (Ref. 665.13.19 L.01)

Fortis has revealed a blingy version of its popular B-42 "aviator". The 2011 Fortis B-42 Stratoliner Chronograph Limited Edition (Ref. 665.13.19 L.01) is available in a medium-sized black PVD-coated stainless steel case and features lots of 18-karat solid(!) rose gold elements not only on its dial and case but even on the fixed bezel with the inevitable tachymeter scale.

Philosophy of Time: JS Watch Co. Islandus Chronograph

JS Watch Co. Islandus Chronograph automatic watch

The new JS Watch Co. Islandus Chronograph collection of self-winding watches was first announced by the Iceland-based brand only a couple of months ago. Surprisingly, it took the watchmaking specialist a very short span of time to actually start selling the timepiece. Featuring a deceptively simple, vintage-styled design of its dial with all of its elements carefully thought over and executed with great attention to details, the new chronograph comes in a somewhat oversized stainless steel body, which is a little too big to my taste, but still looks great on a wrist of an average person.

Breitling Transocean Finally Gets an In-House Caliber

Breitling Transocean Chronograph 01 Limited Edition

With the new limited-edition Transocean Chronograph 01, Breitling somewhat loses its present individuality of a maker of some seriously blingy sh*t, but makes a good claim to the niche of elegant dressy chronographs powered by manufacture-made movements.

Doxa Issues SUB 4000T 10th Anniversary Diver

Doxa has finally presented its limited-edition SUB 4000T Professional 10th Anniversary diving tool. Sporting a traditionally oversized, cushion-shaped stainless steel body, the 10th Anniversary edition offers you everything that a professional diver can expect from this kind of device: a highly legible dial, an impressive water resistance rating, and a highly dependable Swiss-made automatic movement that will last for years. All that comes at a pretty affordable price.

IWC 98300-Based Ralph Lauren Sporting

Ralph Lauren Sporting hand-wound watch review

The U.S.-based fashion brand Ralph Lauren is serious about its attempt to expand its reach beyond expensive clothing and luxury accessories and to become a real watchmaking specialist even though they still can't afford to make their movements. At the SIHH 2011 trade show, the fashion house has presented its vintage-styled (or, rather, vintage-inspired) Sporting Collection. Featuring a hand-wound "pocket watch" caliber from IWC, it comes in a deliberately oversized case that serves as a (pretty massive, I must note) steel frame for the "historic", speedometer-styled dial.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931

Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 Limited Edition

Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the iconic JLC Reverso (a line that was loved by all generations of polo players, but is now considered a distinguished gentleman's wristwatch of choice,) Jaeger-LeCoultre will soon start selling their hand-wound Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 Limited Edition (refs. Q2788570 & Q2782521). As it often happens with models from JLC, the new version will be presented both in modest (but still expensive at almost $8000 MSRP) stainless steel and more luxurious rose gold.

Robust and Reliable: UTS Adventure GMT Diver

UTS Adventure GMT Diver

With its impressive water resistance rating of 50 ATM and a nicely executed cushion-shaped body, the new UTS Adventure GMT diver is the first timepiece from the German brand that can be used not only as a tool, but as an accessory, too (of course, only if you don't mind its hefty weight and the deliberately oversized body, which is around 46 millimeters in width).
